Jonah's First Week

Sunday afternoon and evening after being discharged from the hospital were spent just the three of us (me, Jason, Jonah) at home, as well as Monday. The boys were still with Arbons.

George and Nancy visited on Monday for a short time. Karl came to visit. My Visiting Teachers brought dinner. We drove to Draper to bring the puddle jumpers for the boys and to say hi. They would be going swimming at Larsen’s pool the next day for Mom’s birthday.

On Tuesday, Jason went to work and Nancy came to help me. We did the jaundice test, got some busy bags ready for Colson to play with, she did household chores, and then we had to go back for a repeat PKU test since they got insufficient blood when we were in the hospital. George brought Great Grandma Gruber. Nancy also brought us dinner for that night. My mom and dad brought the boys that evening to us since it was my mom’s birthday and they were going for a bike ride up the canyon. The boys were dead asleep on the drive to our house from the Arbons, so we moved them to the couch and they were snoring away while we chatted and my mom held Jonah. We ended up putting them right to bed...it was 7:00 pm.

The next morning (Wednesday) was spent with the boys at home until 11:30 am. Colson was very attentive to Jonah in the morning, then the two boys start playing and doing really well. Jason went to work. Grandma Gruber came to get them for the day: Discovery park, the little pool in the backyard, popsicles, airplane throwing contest. My Mom came to be with me after lunch. We got to have some really nice quiet time with Jonah. Then she picked up the boys from Alpine and took them back home with her.

On Thursday, Jason worked again, but I was feeling well enough that I spent the day alone with Jonah. It was really nice and special. He did awesome eating and sleeping. I got a few things done, relaxed, napped, and took pictures. The boys spent the day in Draper doing a bike city with Bryan.

The Photoshoot:

On Friday, I was alone again with Jonah. Charlie and Colson went to Elsa's birthday party and had a sleepover there. They went to Elsa’s soccer game on Saturday and then they came home to be with us. We had gone to see the Parade of Homes Friday night while the boys were gone and then took the boys with us on Saturday afternoon after the soccer game and Jason’s work. Both times we went with George, Nancy, and Karl and just held Jonah as we looked around.

There are a lot of fun pictures of the boys activities. See the next post for those.
