December 2017 - Christmas Festivities and Other Things

Early in December, Jason and I were treated to babysitting so we could go on a date. Karl had seen the new Coco movie and loved it so he offered to tend for us so we could go and see it. We agreed with Karl; it was excellent! The colors and images were gorgeous and the story was very touching. We loved it! We were excited to have our kids see it sometime too.

We went and saw the Christmas lights at the Riverwoods. We love doing that! It is so close to us and they do a great job lighting the place. AND their Santa is free. Win! We had dinner at Malawis, saw Santa, looked at the toys in Blickenstaff's, and got treats from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.

This year my parents treated the family to go to Luminaria! Jason and I went the previous year, loved it, and gifted tickets to my parents for Christmas. They loved it as well, so they wanted to take the whole family this year. It was a lot of fun. It was also fun to have our boys there this time as well. They ate it all up. Jason and I enjoyed taking video of the family for my parent’s Christmas card this year at their request. Here is the video link if interested in checking it out:

We continued testing out our fryer. We made more fries (perfecting the art) and donuts.

Charlie had his hip hop concert. He was the most smiley guy up there. It was adorable!

Charlie started playing rather frequently with a neighbor boy named Kenyon. So starts the days of independent “playing”.

Playing with new costumes from the Grubers

We had a date night with Amy and Johnny. We had dinner at Maria Bonitas and then came back to our place for a game of Wits and Wagers.

Our favorite dish at Maria Bonita's...Tacos el Profe

We had our Ward Christmas Breakfast.

This year Christmas would be with the Arbons, so we had our early Christmas Exchange with the Grubers. This is always such a fun tradition. The Grubers had such festive table settings. It was so lovely!

Charlie had his IEP Evaluation. He officially tested out of services; he no longer qualified for speech therapy. This was great news and spoke mounds to the progress he has made. We are so grateful to the whole system the district provides! Having such support and resources was such a blessing to us.

Speaking of Charlie, he had his school Christmas Sing that Colson and I attended.

We saw the new Star Wars movie: Episode 8 - The Last Jedi. We love this tradition with the Arbons and Phillips. So fun and exciting every time! This one was maybe slightly less impressive than previous films.

And then it was Christmas! I will write about that in a following post (after Charlie’s half yearly update!).
