FEBRUARY 2019 - More Skiing and Valentine’s Day

The skiing fun continued in February. One Friday evening, Jason just took Colson to Sundance for night skiing because Charlie was tired of going skiing every Friday. He wanted some time at home, so he stayed home with me and we played and watched The Great British Bake-Off show that he also enjoys.

We made Valentine’s Day cookies, which is a favorite for everybody.

We headed to Alpine to be with the Grubers for a Super Bowl party complete with Valentine’s Day décor and gifts.

We went night skiing at Sundance on a Monday night because I confused the family night deal from Nordic Valley with Sundance’s deals, but we still stayed and went skiing anyway (I mean why not since we already made the effort to be there...we just paid a little more). The slopes were so hard and icy! But surprisingly the boys still had fun.

Charlie had his Parent Teacher Conference. His teachers said that he was doing really well academically and had improved a lot emotionally.

Jason had the young men over to make tacos one night for mutual and then showed them the video he made of the Young Men Encampment last summer.

I tried out the trial period with Hello Fresh (a food delivery system where they provide all of the ingredients and recipes for a couple days of the week). I enjoyed it and the meals were really good. We just didn’t keep it up because of the cost.

Jason and John went skiing at Snowbird and took advantage of a ton of fresh powder from all of the new snow. It was a great day for them.

Colson had his turn to stay at Grandma and Grandpa A’s for a special sleepover. He loved it! He was really spoiled with a McDonald's dinner and games of Flow. They even took him sledding, where he frequently would bail out at the bottom of the hill and of course Grandpa would carry the sled back up. They also went to visit Aunt Camry at her apartment. While he was gone, Charlie and I worked on his Star Student poster for the next week. The next morning, Jason took Charlie to Kneaders for breakfast. Then I went to help my friend, Lexi, clean her apartment since she and her husband were moving. She was pregnant and thus needed the extra help. I knew Lexi from serving with her in the Primary Presidency. After cleaning, I headed to City Creek up in Salt Lake for Kaitlyn Pacada’s baby shower. It was very nice and tasty. She has a lot of very nice friends. On my way home, I picked up Colson from Draper. Then it was a mad dash to get ready for night skiing at Sundance. There was a ton of fresh snow and it was snowing really hard on us, but the boys were good sports and they braved the storm. We had a perfectly fun night of skiing with some fresh snow. Thanks to Emery Peacock for watching Jonah.

Charlie had his day of Star Student, and he was so excited. Jason even came for it. It was very sweet. He gave blow pops out for his treat of choice.

The boys continued to enjoy watching Newsies in the van. The boys loved singing to the songs, especially Colson. It was so cute! At home, we would play the music and the boys would sing and dance. They both said they wanted to do gymnastics so they could do the moves like the newsies. I kept telling them that gymnastics would start in the spring after the snow was gone so we could focus on skiing.

And then it was Valentine’s Day. We had a special date at Tsunami with Richard and Kamilla. I had fun making Valentine's boxes with the boys in the days leading up.

We visited the new Butterfly Biosphere at Thanksgiving Point. It was really cool. The butterflies were so pretty and it was really warm.

We had more skiing fun. This time it totally snowed on us all night. I almost thought we should turn around and no got. Boy am I glad we stayed! It turned out to be one of funnest nights yet of night skiing! It wasn't too cold, we had some fresh powder, the crowds were smaller. It was so much fun.

We had a birthday dinner for Kyle.

Jason and I continued to check online for houses for sale.

I went on my monthly temple date with my PG friends. We ate at JCW’s after.

I took the boys to the dentist. Charlie had one cavity.

Here are some more pictures from the month:

I'd say we are reaching too long...
