Remember September

Let's highlight September, shall we?

My cousin, Dan, got married. They had a fun and yummy reception in the park:

Jason and I finally made it to Lagoon. I had been pestering him all summer to go. Going in September ended up being perfect. Not too hot, but warm enough to go without a jacket. The lines weren't bad either.

Some of our favorite rides

Is it just me, or does it seem like the ride Samari is always closed?!?

Elsa Jane Gruber was blessed:

The Grubers always host great parties with awesome food!

We celebrated Mya's birthday...again, another great Gruber party:

Happy Birthday Princess Mya!

We were invited to go to an early premiere showing of Footloose with Desi and Tony. Such a fun surprise! Thanks for thinking of us!

Love them!

Kim was asked to Homecoming, so I helped curl her hair:

She looked beautiful...of course!

Can't forget about all of those Sunday dinners:

And saving the best for last.....our trip to Lake Powell! And that will be a post all its own...

Fishing Shrine

Have you ever heard of speed blogging? Yes, that is what I'm attempting to do....

As I've mentioned before, Jason has a love and obsession for fishing. He really is a fantastic fisherman! Often times, he goes solo.  Every once and awhile I will give in and come along. I always enjoy the first 15, maybe 30 minutes...but then I get over it pretty quick. Jason wants to stay for hours, and that's where the anxious Emily comes out. But hey, at least I give it a shot sometimes. Here is proof:

Yes, the fish is pathetically small! But I'm still proud. In my defense, the angle that the fish is at is not doing it justice either!

Jason is great at taking care of the dirty, gross parts. I never have to touch a slimy thing!

Here are some more photos of his fishing adventures:

This is his buddy, Parker. They have been friends since high school. They are hilarious when it comes to fishing! Anytime either of them goes fishing, they call each other to tell them how it was and the size of fish they caught...typical "fish tales". I swear it is the same story every time..."it was the biggest fish I've ever seen in that area..." but, they absolutely love it. Anytime I see Parker calling on Jason's phone, I know what it is going to be about and I know I have a good 15-30 minutes to myself as Jason jabs on. Good times!

Here is a fishing trip Jason had with his dad and brother:

A very successful day of fishing!

August "in a" Rush

With all of the summer birthdays done in a previous post, there are only a couple more things to add to the month of August.

Alpine Days is always a treat. I'm a sucker for those kinds of things. I love getting lunch from the little booths in the park and watching the fireworks at night. This year, Jason and I took our sweet beach cruisers to the parade and showed them off with the other cool rides.

As mentioned before, our stay at the Tadje's house was short lived. Mid-August brought another round of moving...seems to be our favorite thing to do (as you can see in the expression on Jason's face):

It always seems to be raining when we move...

Staying with the Grubers was, of course, a blast and such a blessing! Love those guys to death! The free rent wasn't bad either. A planned one to two week stay turned into about five months. Oh how the time flies.

Jason is alway great at offering help around the house. Here are some snapshots of some of their many projects:

Check out the awesome sunflowers they had in their front yard!

With these sunflowers and herds of deer in the backyard, nature just doesn't get much prettier than Alpine, Utah.

Looking out from atop the chair lift

Obviously so fun!

Dialogue of the day:
"Can you go on the slide if you are pregnant?"
"...I ain't never seen nobody who wasn't pregnant who didn't go on that thing..."

Yes, the people running rides in Jackson Hole are quality!!
...and still not sure what his answer was...

The kiddos in their new sunglasses from Grandma and Grandpa Gruber. Stylin'!!

Eating at Bubba's...the food was awesome!

Smore's Time:

To say thank you to Grandpa Banks, the last night we gave him a framed picture of the family in Jackson Hole. So cute, he was so gracious!

Some of the gang went to visit Cowboy Bar one last time

Saturday August 6
    Drive home

Jason and I outside our "home for the week"

As I'm sure you can tell, we had such a blast! I am so blessed to be part of such a fun and amazing family. I love them all and could not be happier and more grateful for eternal families!
