Colson’s 4th Birthday

Colson turned four!! For his birthday he requested “big” waffles, or Belgian waffles, for breakfast. Then it was present time. He was very excited and gracious. One present ended up being faulty (isn’t that always how it goes), but he was understanding that we could exchange it.

...thanks to Charlie's Spanish Immersion

Jonah took a really long nap that day so I was able to build the LEGO set gift with Colson before lunch and preschool. Charlie was already away at school. I loved having that fun one on one time with Colson.

While Colson was at preschool, Jonah and I went to Target to exchange the faulty toy. The replacement also ended up being crappy! So we have learned our lesson with that particular toy.

After the boys got home from school, they played with the new LEGOs for a bit and then played with Kenyon and the Sites boys. Grandma A stopped by for a special visit and brought a present. Lucky for us, that night was also Free Family Skate Night for Orchard Elementary at Classic Skating. So we went and the boys had a ball on their scooters! We got pizza there. Colson totally thought the neighbor kids (Kenyon, Ethan, Pyper) were there for his birthday party. It was great! We took a cake and shared with the friends. Colson requested a red Mario cake. I did my best making a funfetti cake with a homemade raspberry spread in the middle. The “red” frosting on top was so hard to make red, so it ended up being a deep shade of pink. Oh well! Colson still seemed happy with it. What Colson was most interested in, however, was the arcade games. He wanted to do more of those games over the actual scootering, which was a surprise to me (but now I know he is a true gamer at heart).

Happy Birthday Colson! We love you!
