Jonah’s Ninth Month

eight months
to
nine months

(February 1 - March 1)

Jonah has been enjoying crawling around and exploring different objects and toys. He is especially content if you are on the ground with him while he plays. Just knowing that you are there helps him and he really enjoys it.

He is ticklish on his belly and his neck. That is Dad’s specialty. It is very cute.

Jonah keeps having hard poops, so we are trying him on prune and grape juices. The first day he didn’t enjoy drinking them straight so we mixed them with rice cereal, and that seemed to make it better.

We cut his hair again. His hair is still growing straight up!

Jonah definitely looks for me if I step away for a bit. If he notices me from a far while playing with the boys, he will start whining and want me near him.

He blows a lot of raspberries! What I mean is he blows and spits with his tongue out a lot. He entertains himself with that. He also says “bah bah bah” often. He will do it on his own and also when mimicking others. He will also bring his hand to his mouth sideways with his palm facing out and will wave it back and forth to create a funny noise, like “ahhh” Indian sounds. I don’t know how to describe it. It's like when you wiggle your forefinger up and down over your lips and it makes that funny oscillating sound. It’s pretty great.

Jonah enjoys action and noises! He likes being in the Exersaucer for a bit while watching a show or while the boys play the Wii.

Grandma and Grandpa Gruber gave us their old baby food grinder, the very same one they used with Jason. It has been great to instantly make baby food out of anything we are eating.

Jonah loves it when I am carrying him and raise my hand up next to his to say “high five!” I wait for him to lower his hand into my hand and make a high-five clapping sound. We repeat that over and over and he just grins.
