We had a great Fourth of July. We started off at the Provo Parade with George, Nancy, and Karl. We had lunch and outside fun in Alpine afterwards. Then we met up with Arbons for a BBQ and then fireworks from the Sandy Amphitheater. Just as we were leaving to head home, Bryan announced he would be serving a mission! We were so surprised and excited for him. Up until this point he had had no interest and had been working on joining the National Guard. After a few failed attempts at the entry exam, he reevaluated his direction for the next few years and felt prompted he needed to serve a mission. His papers were already submitted and he would be receiving his call soon.

We had a date night with Amy and Johnny. We had dinner at Koi. This time, instead of two pregnant women, we had two babies with us. Then we came back to our house for treats and visiting.
caught in the act
Jason was really busy with work at this point and had to work a lot of Saturdays. They even had to get a transit and a forklift.

We got together with my old BYU freshmen friends. We had a BBQ pool party at Larsen’s pool. The whole gang was there: Alison, Megan, Jaleah, Bryton, and it was complete with their husbands and kids. It’s crazy how we all have families now and we are growing! The evening was not without event as Charlie snuck into the pool while we were eating and drifted into the deep area. He easily could have drowned if Alison’s husband, Cody, hadn’t heard him and ran to save him!

We must have been feeling brave with Jonah as a baby, because we took the family to see Incredibles 2 at the theater for Five Dollar Tuesday. We got dinner there and ate it in our seats. Logistically it was tricky getting the food from the concessions into the theater while carrying a baby and keeping the other two close to us in the madness of discount Tuesday, but we made it and Jonah did great in our arms. We had to stand up and walk with him a few times, but we never had to totally take him out of the theater. It was a success and a very fun movie.
As planned, I cut my hair back to a pixie cut. I lose a ton of hair after I have babies, so I cut it before it started thinning out. Sadly, the girl who cut my pixie last time had moved away, so I was on the search for a new one.
One day I took the boys to the Draper Splash Pad. They loved it. My mom watched Jonah at her house while I went with the boys.
We took a wonderful trip to California for Jason’s cousin’s wedding. We made it into a fun family vacation. I will post about that next.
For Pioneer Day, Jason got off work early and we went to Cascade Springs for a fun hike.
Our evening show of choice at this time was Master Chef.
We had a couple of play dates with Roman to help his mom out who just had her baby.
We had a playdate at Kylie’s house in Saratoga Springs.
We visited the Draper Splash Pad again.
Richard and Kamilla came to visit and meet Jonah. We had hotdogs on the grill and the boys had a ball playing together.
We experimented more with our deep fryer and made churros. They were delicious!
At the end of the month we went to Park City with the Arbons. We were there Sunday to Wednesday. These were some of the highlights: eating Papa Murphy’s pizza in the lobby, swimming, bike rides, games, treats, watching Best Two Years in the theater room, grilling steaks out next to the pool, riding the Alpine Slide, eating dinner at the Baja Cantina, playing at the park, and walking down Main Street. Several people had to leave for work on and off, and some were able to do their work from the condo. It was a blast!
