DECEMBER 2020 - Christmas Activities

Once December hit, we were busy getting ready for Christmas, ordering gifts (what would we do without Amazon Prime?!?), and making Christmas cookies.

Jason and John got an important business toy...they each got One Wheels! They have really enjoyed them. They are a lot of fun.

We had a Sunday dinner in Alpine with the Grubers, planning the Christmas things coming up. This year, thanks to an offer from the Riverton Grubers, we would be celebrating Christmas at their house.

We visited Nate and Sarah Tadje and their family in South Weber to see their new house. We had a pizza dinner and the kids ran amok playing and having a ball. Richard and Dakota were there as well.

We went to the Riverwoods with our old PG friends, the Provosts and the Stones. We went to see Santa and the Christmas lights. We ate dinner at Bajio and then the kids had a lot of fun running around throwing snowballs. There was a girl there dressed up like a legit Grinch; she chased the kids around and played with them. The kids just loved it! It was hilarious. That definitely ended up being the highlight of their night! Then we saw Santa and lucked out on free carousel rides at the Provo Beach Resort. We also drank hot chocolate and visited the toy store.

Colson had a cute Christmas field trip to the mall with his preschool group to see Santa and to sing carols.

All the kids got flu shots.

We were lucky enough to go to the Tabernacle Choir on Temple Square Christmas Concert! This is always such a treat for us if we are able to go. We dropped the boys off in Draper with my parents and then met up with George, Nancy, and Karl downtown. We ate at Johnny Rockets. The concert guest this year was Kristen Chenoweth and it was absolutely amazing! She is probably our favorite guest to date! It was such a fun and engaging concert! We are so grateful!

We had our ward Christmas breakfast.

The Primary Sang

In Primary one Sunday we had a Singing Time Christmas Program. Any of the kids who wanted could volunteer to do a musical number during Singing Time. The boys “played” the harmonica while Jingle Bells played from a music player. It was adorable.

(unfortunately I didn't snap a pic of our boys)

The Spencers got into town and they surprised us by stopping by for Colson’s indoor soccer game! The next day we went into Alpine to play with Alli, Duke, and Capri. They had Becka’s kids over as well and they all had a ball playing outside for four hours straight! They were playing with the neighbors chickens and just enjoying the mud and snow.

On December 22nd, it was Saturday morning, and our little family opened up all of our gifts to each other. We did this prior to going to the Gruber Family Christmas to help minimize the number of presents that would need to be opened Christmas Day.

That night we did a fun gift exchange with the Arbons. This year we did it at our house.

We did a prize wrap game this year

And then we headed to Riverton for Christmas! I will write a separate post about that very soon.

packing up

On the last Sunday of the month (and the year) I gave the very last Sharing Time in Primary before the official switch to the new curriculum and two-hour church. It’s kind of crazy (and amazing) that Sharing Time is officially over!

Here are some more pictures from the month:
