HAWAII - Part IV

Friday, October 21
Laie Temple Session
Giovannis Shrimp Truck
V-Lands
Turtle Bay
Costco
Watch Star Wars
Emily finds out she is pregnant!

Beautiful Laie Temple:

Very nice, Mike...

Giovanni's Shrimp Truck:

My first shrimp truck experience! So greasy, yet so delicious!

On our way to Turtle Bay
As you can imagine, we did A LOT of driving on this trip. This was the all-too familiar view for Kaitlyn and I from the back of the car.

Our trip to Turtle Bay was short lived, as they quickly spotted us and booted us out of the hot tubs (someday I will buy a Turtle Bay towel so no one will suspect!)

And the suspicion is confirmed:

That's right, I found out I was pregnant while in Hawaii.
We had just recently purchased Groupons for a killer deal on scuba-diving scheduled for the next day. I knew I was "late", if you know what I mean, and was growing more and more suspicious. I had also found out that it is not recommended to go scuba-diving while pregnant...so this was the necessary time to take the test. Turns out I was six weeks pregnant!
What a Hawaiian Surprise!
Thrilled and terrified is how I would describe our reaction.
From that point on, Jason and I knew life would never be the same.

Saturday, October 22
Scuba-Diving in Hawaii Kai
Lunch at home
Resting
Disney Resort in Aulani
Dinner at Outback in Pearl City
Malasades Truck

Since I was no longer able to go scuba-diving, I snorkeled from the surface. It was definitely fun to watch/film Jason, Mike, and Kait scuba-dive below. We saw lots of turtles, other cool fish, and dolphins jumping nearby on the boat ride.

Disney Resort in Aulani:

Main lounge

The resort was gorgeous and so fun! It was hard not to dream and want to bring our family back here someday.

Private beach access from the resort

The plan was to eat dinner at one of the restaurants/buffets at the resort...but just too expensive (like $40 a plate)...hence the field trip to Outback in Pearl City.

Sunday, October 23
Church - Primary Program
Stayed home - Raining out

Lucky for us, the rainy day of the trip fell on a Sunday. We got to watch Mike and Kaitlyn help their primary class put on their primary program and relax most of the day.

  1. Someday we should have a Hawaii reunion again at Aulani with our kids.
